Scientific name: Rana catesbeiana
Description: Bullfrogs grow to about 8 inches long. Most bullfrogs have a yellowish-green or olive-green back and a white belly with brown markings.
Predators: Great blue heron, snakes, turtles, fish, birds, raccoons , large mouth bass, barred owl, green darner, Channel catfish, red-tailed hawk, yellow perch, eastern newt, large diving beetle, muskrat, Virginia opossum , eastern painted turtle, common snapping turtle, black crappie, bald eagle, ring-billed gull, double crested cormorant.
Offspring: Bullfrogs lay up to 20,000 eggs in huge sheets, attached to plants under the water. The eggs turn into tadpoles, which then turn into bullfrogs.
Diet: They will eat just about any animal they can swallow. These include: insects, crayfish, worms, minnows, other frogs (even bullfrogs), small turtles, snakes, baby birds, and small mammals.
