Description: The red fox has a long sleek body with orange-red fur covering its back and sides and white fur around its mouth, belly, chest, and the inside of its legs. It has a silver tint on its lower back. The red fox also has big rounded ears, black paws, and yellow eyes. They live 2-5 years in the wild.
Habitat: Red foxes can live anywhere from the inner city to the forest. They can also be found in Middle Eastern deserts.
Diet: They eat insects, earthworms, birds’ eggs, birds, small mammals, fruit, and dead animals.
Offspring: Red foxes have one litter of cubs a year. They can have anywhere between 3-14 cubs per litter. The average is 5 per litter.
Natural Predators: Bobcats, lynxes, panthers, and wolves all prey on foxes.
