Description
White Crappie are very similar in appearance to the Black Crappie . White Crappie have 5-10 vertical bars rather than randomly scattered spots like Black Crappie. The dorsal fin of a White Crappie starts further back on the body than that of a Black Crappie. White Crappie are also slightly longer than Black Crappie. The White Crappie are members of the Sunfish family and are also referred to as the Spec, Papermouth, and Strawberry Bass. This sport fish is typically 9-12 inches long and weigh one pound or less, but they can reach up to 18 inches long and weigh over 3 pounds.
