Scientific name: Bubo Virginians
Description: Great horned owls are about 1 ½ meters tall and weigh about 3 lbs. The usually have rust, black, and white colored feathers on their body and rust or brown colored wings. They have a wingspan of 1.4 meters. Their large eyes are golden or red. One of their most distinctive characteristics are the long ear tufts. If you go out at night you may hear its low hooting call.

Habitat: all kinds of habitats like deserts, forests, cities, and wetlands
Offspring: Females lay two to three eggs per year. Males and females feed the babies for thirty days. The babies learn to fly when they are nine weeks old.
